Cherry Canyon Mud

The weather lady in Sacramento is excited. There’s a triple storm in Northern California, and a River of Rain, whatever that is. Mount Shasta is expected to have record snow.

What this means down here in Los Angeles is fog and misting rain. The forecast for today is scattered showers, and for tomorrow they predict things will be “unsettled”, whatever that means. It’s warm and beautiful.

A favorite weekday run of mine is on the Cherry Canyon trails in La Canada. Depending on the route, I can get a nice 6 – 9 miles of rolling hills split between fireroads, trails, and sometimes technical singletrack. The trails were slick in a few spots – the Altra Superiors I run in these days don’t have much traction in the mud – but it’s all still very runnable, and fun.
